The State Government of Australia's State of New South Wales has released its annually expanded list of official non-working public holidays in Australia's State of New South Wales (NSW) for the calendar year 2022.

Once again (2019-01-30, 2018-02-03, 2017-06-17, 2016-01-28, 2014-12-13, 2014-02-07, 2013-03-05, 2012-06-01 and 2011-08-16), the aforementioned list of official NSW public holidays for the calendar year 2022 is in line with the "Public Holidays Bill 2010" (2010-11-13), which took effect as of 2012, following the recommendations of the independent inquiry that was conducted by Professor Joellen Riley, at the request of the then NSW government (2009-05-31 and 2009-08-18)

As usual, "when Australia Day (26 January) falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no public holiday on that day as the following Monday will be declared a public holiday".
