The federal government of Pakistan has announced that the public holidays for the upcoming Eid-ulAzha (Feast of sacrifice) holiday in Pakistan, would be limited to Friday, July 31, 2020 ("No additional holidays will be given to prevent unnecessary travelling that may cause the spread of Covid-19").

The aforementioned date of Friday, July 31, 2020, for the upcoming Feast of Sacrifice holiday in Pakistan, is in line with the recently-announced date by Pakistan's Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry (2020-06-14), who at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee for Science and Technology, had announced that a new 5 years lunar calendar would soon be finalized, allowing for a longer-term forecast of annual non-working public holidays in Pakistan (2019-05-19).

However, today's announcement amends the list of 2020 public holidays in Pakistan, as announced, late last year (2019-12-06).
