The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that Monday, April 27, 2020, would be a bank holiday throughout Pakistan on the occasion of the annual first day of Ramadan Bank Holiday.
The date of Monday, April 27, 2020, as a bank holiday throughout Pakistan, is in addition to the list of 2020 public holidays in Pakistan, as announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2020" published by the Government of Pakistan late last year (2019-12-06).
Last month (2020-03-15), the federal minister for science and technology of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry, had announced the date for the beginning of the month of Ramazan, as Saturday, April 25, 2020, commenting that the Pakistani Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had predicted wrong dates for the months of Zilqad and Rajab, so far this year.
