The Government of India's State of Sikkim has announced its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's State of Sikkim for the upcoming calendar year 2021 ("The governor of Sikkim is pleased to declare the days specified in the following Schedule to be observed as public holidays in all government offices, public sector undertakings and educational institutions under the government of Sikkim during the calendar year 2021").
The aforementioned notification of the 2021 public holidays in India's state of Sikkim, is contained in the Government of Sikkim notification No.84/Home/2020 of 06/10/2020, signed by S. C. Gupta, Chief Secretary to the Government of Sikkim.
As usual, it contains a lengthy list of public holidays, 39 for 2020, but a very short list of optional holidays, only 4 in 2020; Labour Day, Birthday of Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, Birthday of H.H. The Dalai Lama, and Chhat Puia ("It is further declared that the following days shall be Restricted Holiday, a government employee shall be entitled to avail of only one per year.").
The Government of Sikkim notification No.84/Home/2020 of 06/10/2020 also specifies which Saturdays are to be non-working days ("In addition, All second and fourth Saturdays will be observed as holidays in all Government Offices and Public Sector Undertakings and Educational Institutions.").
