The government of Slovakia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published its annual official list of 2021 Slovakian bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Slovakia for the upcoming calendar year 2021.

Note that, as it did for the past 8 years (2019-08-10, 2019-01-03, 2017-07-26, 2016-08-07, 2015-10-16, 2014-09-28, 2013-08-13 and 2012-09-11), the aforementioned official list of 2021 Slovakian bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Slovakia for the upcoming calendar year 202 still includes the September 1st and September 15 public holidays, despite their being under consideration for cancellation (2012-06-25, 2012-06-21, 2011-10-08 and 2011-09-04), though recently re-confirmed (2014-09-22 and 2014-09-03).

The Slovakian list of 2021 public holidays confirms that the recently-gazetted amendments to the law on national holidays, non-working days and memorial days, making October 28 an annual state holiday in Slovakia, beginning in 2021, did not create a non-working public holiday, but rather only an observance date (2020-11-03 and 2019-10-28).

As per custom (2016-08-07, 2015-10-16, 2014-09-28, 2013-08-13, 2012-09-11, 2011-10-08, 2010-09-04, 2009-10-15 and 2008-10-31), the Slovakian official public holidays list excludes any public holiday that, on a given year, falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
