Sri Lanka Banks' Association, via the Sri Lankan Minister of Home Affairs, Wajira Abeywardena, has released its annual list of the official bank holidays in Sri Lanka for the upcoming calendar year 2021, in line with, but, as always expanding upon the official list of annual Sri Lankan public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2021, as published this past summer.
The aforementioned announcement of an amended list of 2021 list of bank holidays in Sri Lanka, relates to the Sri Lanka Banks' Association release, via the Sri Lankan Minister of Home Affairs, Wajira Abeywardena, of the list of the official bank holidays in Sri Lanka for the calendar year 2021, a couple of months ago (2020-10-23), following the announcement of the 2021 public holidays in Sri Lanka (2020-06-27), which itself followed the announcement of the Full Moon Poya Days in 2021 (2020-06-09).
At the time of the initial release of the 2021 list of Sri Lanka bank holidays, we had mentioned that the list contained an error in one of the usual additional half-day bank holidays for some non-Poya public holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday ("Half a day Special Bank Holiday (In lieu of Christmas Day which falls on a Saturday)").
This error has now been fixed.
