The Minister of the Interior of Suriname, Albert Ramchand Ramdin, has issued a communiqué declaring Saturday, November 14, 2020, as the date of the upcoming Divali public holiday in Suriname for the calendar year 2020.
The aforementioned declaration of Saturday, November 14, 2020, as the date of the 2020 Divali public holiday in Suriname, is in line with the annual list of expected bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Suriname dates for the calendar year 2020, released earlier this year (2020-01-20).
Divali has been one of the Suriname annual non-working public holidays, for the past decade, since Suriname's then President, Desi Bouterse, announced that Friday, November 5, 2010, would be an official public holiday in Suriname (2010-10-30) on account of that year's Divali.
