The Government of India's state of Tamil Nadu has announced its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Tamil Nadu for the upcoming calendar year 2021 in the Government Order Ms. No.554 ("Public Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 for the State Government Offices and all Commercial Banks including Co-operative Banks in Tamil Nadu for the year 2021").
As per custom (2019-10-23, 2018-10-30, 2017-11-08, 2016-11-15, 2015-12-02, 2014-11-24, 2013-11-26, 2012-11-20, 2012-08-08, 2011-10-25, 2010-11-02 and 2009-10-19), the aforementioned announcement of the Tamil Nadu public holidays for the calendar year 2021, states that "Under the Explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, No.20-25-26, Public-1, dated the 8th June 1957, the Government of Tamil Nadu hereby declares that, in addition to Sundays expressly defined as Public Holidays in the said Explanation, the following days shall be Public Holidays for the year 2021.".
