Telangana Extends 2021 Public Holidays In 16 Districts

The Telangana government has issued the government order Proc. No. F/730 /2020 declaring additional 2021 public holidays in 16 districts of Telangana ("Telangana Factories and Establishments (National Festival and Other Holidays) Act, 1974 -Notification of National/ Festival and Other Holidays for the year 2021 under the Act -National and Festival Holidays with wages to persons employed in Factories -Notification under Sec. 3(1) of the Act for the year, 2021 -Orders Issued -Reg.").
The government order Proc. No. F/730 /2020 states that "In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Sec (1) of Sec. 31 of Telangana Factories and Establishments (National Festival and Other Holidays) Act, 1974 (Act No. 32 of 1974) read with rule 3 of Te1angana Factories and Establishments (National Festival and Other Holidays) Act, 1974, I, Joint Commissioner of Labour, Ranga Reddy Zone, Hyderabad hereby notify the following National / Festival and Other Holidays to be the Holidays with wages for the calendar year 2021 to the workers working in Factories located in Rangareddy, Medcha1, Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, NaJgonda, Yadadri, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, NagarkurnooJ, Wanaparthy, Jogu1amba Gadwa1 and Narayanpet Districts.".
The aforementioned declaration of additional 2021 public holidays in 16 districts of Telangana, thus further amends (2020-11-21, 2020-10-23, 2020-10-14, 2020-10-06, 2020-05-16, 2020-03-21, 2020-03-09) the "Holidays- General Holidays and Optional Holidays for the year 2020 – Notified" (G.O.Rt.No. 3022 dated 21.11.2019), which officially listed the annual non-working public holidays to be observed in the Indian State of Telangana for the calendar year 2020 (2019-11-22).
Telangana was formed as the 29th state of India on June 2, 2014, having been separated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
