Timor Leste Popular Consultation Public Holidays August 30-31

The government of Timor Leste has announced that it had decided to declare a day-off public sector holiday in Timor Leste on Monday, August 31, 2020 ("To celebrate the 30th of August, the Popular Consultation Day, which this year is celebrated on a Sunday, the Government decided to grant a day-off on Monday, August, 31st, for all employees and agents of the Ministries and their dependent services, as well as the institutes and bodies integrated in the State indirect administration").
According to the Secretariat of State of the Council of Ministers of Timor Leste, the aforementioned decision, as in past years (2019-08-23), is based on law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (2005-08-12) and is in addition to the list of official public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2019, which was announced at the beginning of this year (2019-02-08).
