The UAE's moon-sighting committee, in a meeting headed by Minister of Justice, Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, has announced that the New Moon of Shawwal could not be seen tonight, and therefore that "Saturday 23 May is the last day of Ramadan, and Sunday 24 May will be the first day of Shawwal".
The aforementioned announcement thus specifies the date of the end of the upcoming End of Ramadan public holidays, in the UAE, as being Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Earlier this month (2020-05-11), the UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had announced Ramadan 29 (May 22) to Shawwal 3, as the 2020 End of Ramadan (Eid Al Fitr) public sector holidays of the UAE, leaving the actual date of the 3rd day of Shawwal to be determined.
A similar announcement was made for the private sector, by the UAE's Ministry of Human Resources, namely that the dates of the 2020 End of Ramadan (Eid Al Fitr) general public holidays of the UAE, would run from Ramadan 29 (May 22) until the 3rd day of the month of Shawwal (2020-05-14).
