Abkhazia 2022 Public Holidays Announced

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Abkhazia has released its annual list of official non-working public holidays in Abkhazia for the upcoming calendar year 2022.

The aforementioned announcement of 2022 public holidays in Abkhazia maintains the September 30 public holiday declared almost a decade ago (2008-09-30) and repeats the August 26 commemoration of the recognition of Abkhazia (2009-08-24), as usual (2020-11-26, 2019-12-02, 2018-12-18, 2017-12-06, 2016-11-18, 2015-11-01, 2014-12-08, 2011-10-22 and 2010-09-05).

Additionally, the announcement goes on to list 7 day in lieu public holidays ("due to the coincidence of weekends and public holidays, the following days off are postponed" and 2 postponed weekend days ("In order to rationally use weekends and holidays").

As for the Feast of Sacrifice public holiday, the announcement of 2022 public holidays in Abkhazia states that "According to the Muslim lunar calendar, the public holiday of Kurbanykhua falls in mid-July in 2022, the exact date will be announced three months before the holiday".
