Costa Rica's Minister of Labour and Social Security (MTSS) has confirmed that the upcoming Juan Santamaria Day annual non-working public holiday of Costa Rica, would be observed on on its set annual date of April 11, 2021, and would not be moved to the following Monday.

The aforementioned confirmation is a side-effect of the last year's passage of amendments to the labour code of Costa Rica (paragraph 185 of Law No. 9875), whereby many of the 2020-2024 Costa Rican public holidays were moved to adjoin a nearby weekend (2020-07-18, 2020-07-02, 2020-06-17, 2020-06-02, 2020-05-07 and 2020-04-22).

This has often led rumours that some of the un-moved public holidays would be moved at the last-minute.
