The President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has once again announced that he would extend the upcoming public holiday in the Gambia for the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan), to run from Wednesday to Thursday, May 12-13, 2021, inclusively.
Today's announcement ("The Office of the President wishes to inform the General Public that His Excellency President Adama Barrow, acting under section 76 of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia is pleased to declare Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th May 2021 as Public Holidays throughout the country in observance of the Feast of Eid-ul-Fitr to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan"), once again (2020-05-22, 2019-06-03, 2017-06-22, 2018-08-20, 2016-09-09), extends a Muslim public holiday of the Gambia, but this time only for a second day.
