The Government of Guam has released its annual official list of non-working public holidays in Guam and public sector holidays in Guam (GovGuam holidays) for the calendar year 2021.

The aforementioned announcement of the list of non-working public holidays in Guam and public sector holidays in Guam (GovGuam holidays), for the calendar year 2021 includes the third Monday of January, added as a new "GovGuam holiday" (public holiday limited to civil servants), in honor of Martin Luther King Jr, more than a decade ago (2008-04-26).

It does, however, continue to ignore the House Bill that was to eliminate day in lieu public holidays for Guam civil servants, as was the case every year since then (2019-12-11, 2018-12-31, 2017-12-30, 2017-01-22, 2016-01-08, 2015-01-09, 2014-01-10, 2013-01-29 and 2012-01-03).

The House Bill "An Act To Amend §1000 Of Chapter 10 Of Title 1, Guam Code Annotated, Relative To Following The Practice Of The Federal Government For Federal Holidays Falling On Saturdays And Sundays" was signed into law by the Governor of Guam, more than 15 years ago (2005-01-03 and 2004-12-22).
