The Government of India's state of Haryana has issued the Notification No.28/01/2006-3GSII declaring Sunday, September 12, 2021, as a one-off non-working public holiday on account of that day's multiple by-elections.
As per notification No.28/01/2006-3GSII, "It is hereby informed that Sunday, the 12th of September, 2021 has been fixed by the State Election Commission Haryana as day of Poll for Bye-Election for the seat of President, Municipal Committee, Dharuhera, District Rewari and of five wards namely wards Nos. 3,4,7,8 and 9 of Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi, District Mahendergarh. Therefore, it has been decided by the Government that Sunday, the 12th of September, 2021 shall be observed as a public holiday in the offices of all Departments / Boards / Corporations / Educational Institutions under the Haryana Government and in all the factories, commercial establishments, shops etc. falling within the jurisdiction of Municipal Committee, Dharuhera, District Rewari and above wards of Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi, Mahendergarh to enable the employees of Government offices and workers of the various factories, commercial establishments etc. to cast their vote".
The aforementioned notification of a public holiday in India's state of Haryana, on Sunday, September 12, 2021, the date of upcoming municipal polls, signed by Vijai Vardhan, the Chief Secretary to Government Haryana's Labour Department, thus amends the list of "the days which will be non-working public holidays" in India's state of Haryana for the calendar year 2021, as set out in the General Administration Department Notification No. 28/67 /2018-3GSII covering General Holidays, Restricted Holidays, and Holidays declared under N.I. Act, 1881, released late last year (2020-12-03).
