The secretaría de Derechos Humanos, Justicia, Gobernación y Descentralización of Honduras, has once again approved the declaration of the entire upcoming Holy Week (March 27-April 5, 2021) as additional non-working public holidays for Honduras' public sector employees ("el Gobierno otorgó asueto durante toda la próxima semana a los funcionarios públicos, por lo que pueden organizar bien sus vacaciones").
For its part, the private sector of Honduras will, exceptionally in 2021, begin on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 ("La empresa privada otorgó el feriado a partir del día miércoles").
There had been heated discussion between the representative of the National Association of Public Employees of Honduras and the private sector representative to Honduras' Mesa Multisectorial as to the advisability of postponing the upcoming Easter week public holidays, set to run from March 29 to April 3, 2021, to the end of 2021 (2021-02-18 and 2021-02-15).
