At its last cabinet meeting, the State Government of India's state of Karnataka has approved and announced its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2022.
The aforementioned notification of the list of 2022 public holidays in Karnataka are contained in a Government Order Notification NO.DPAR 37 HHL 2021 issued by the Karnataka Government Secretaraiat of and signed by Mohammed Naeem Momin by order of and in the name of the Govemor of Karnataka.
As usual (2020-11-20, 2019-11-23, 2017-11-17, 2017-11-10 and 2016-11-30), the Government Order Notification NO.DPAR 37 HHL 2021 omits habitual public holidays on the years when they fall on a Sunday or on a non-working Saturday ("This list does not include May Day (01.05.2022), Bakrid (10.07.2022). Mahalaya Amavasye (25.09.2022), Gandhi Jayanthi (02.10.2022). Maharishi Valmiki Jayanthi / Eid-Milad (09.10.2022) and Christmas (25.12.2022) which falls on Sundays.").
As for the Muslim public holidays in Karnataka in 2022, the Government Order specifies that "If any of the Holidays for the festivals of Muslim fraternity notified above does not fall on die date notified. Muslim fraternity in Government Service may be granted holiday on the date of observance in view of the holidays already notified.".
Later, one-off amendments, to the aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2022, are always possible (2019-06-10 and 2019-01-21), though no such last-minute change occurred in either 2021 or 2020.
