The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the Cabinet of Ministers had decided to postpone the upcoming public holiday of Monday, May 10, 2021, to a later date, namely Monday, August 30, 2021, "in order to rationally use weekends and non-working holidays".
Normally, the month of May 2021 would have seen 2 day in lieu public holidays, on Monday, May 3, and on Monday, May 10, 2021.
But the expected Monday, May 3, 2021, public holiday was moved to January 8, instead, as part of last year's announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan ("В этом году новогодние праздники решено отметить без переноса выходных и праздничных дней."), of the non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan for the calendar year 2021 (2020-12-04).
The cancellation of the May 3, 2021, public holiday was confirmed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan, at the beginning of last month (2021-04-01).
Today's announcement cancels the second May 2021 day in lieu, but means a 4-day weekend at the end of August, when combined with the August 31st, 2021, public holiday for the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
