Mongolia Maintains June 1st Public Holiday

The Mongolian government has announced that, despite its recent decision to cancel the upcoming International Children's Day celebrations, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date of June 1st, 2021, would remain a non-working public holiday in Mongolia.

As per the list of 2021 public holiday in Mongolia, announced at the beginning of this year (2021-01-14), June 1st, 2021, was to be a public holiday in Mongolia, as it has been since 1996.

In a separate statement, the Mongolian government announced that the date for the upcoming Buddha Day public holiday would be Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

The Buddha Day public holiday of Mongolia, celebrating the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha, was recently added to the list of annual public holidays in Mongolia (2019-12-22 and 2019-10-23).
