Omani authorities have announced the dates of the upcoming Eid al Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays for the private sector and the public sector in Oman, as running from Sunday, July 18, until Thursday, July 22, 2021.
As per last night's announcement, "His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, it has been decided that the Eid Al Adha holiday will be for employees in the units of the state’s administrative apparatus and other legal persons and workers in private sector establishments from Sunday 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to July 18, 2021 until Thursday, July 22, 2021.", in line with the 2013 royal decree ordering equal holidays for both public as well as private sectors during the religious (Eid) and national public holidays (2013-04-06).
Note that, also since that 2013 royal decree issued by Sultan Qaboos bin Said (2013-04-06), Oman observes a Friday-Saturday weekend for both the public as well as the private sector, so that the postscript to last night's statement, "Official working hours will resume on Sunday 25 July 2021", actually means a 9-day Eid al Adha Public Holidays streak for Oman's public sector.
