Pakistan's Ministry of Interior has issued a circular "Public and Optional Holidays for the calendar year, 2022", signed by the Deputy Secretary, Flak Sher Virk, which contains its annual list of the expected dates for non-working public holidays and optional holidays for the calendar year 2022 in Pakistan.

The 2022 Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday of Pakistan will be reduced from 4 days (2009-11-20 and 2008-12-31) to the shorter period that was the norm before 2008 (2006-12-16), for the 12th consecutive year (2020-12-10, 2019-12-06, 2019-01-09, 2018-01-27, 2016-12-25, 2016-02-01, 2015-01-12, 2014-01-09, 2013-02-04, 2012-01-15, 2011-01-03 and 2009-12-24).

The cancellation of the November 9th, Iqbal Day, annual non-working public holiday in Pakistan (2015-11-15 and 2015-11-03) seems once again confirmed.
