The Panamanian Ministry of Health (Minsa) has announced that there would be no Carnival in 2021 in panama due to Covid-19 and that the only upcoming public holiday will be Tuesday, February 16, 2021, with Carnival Monday and Ash Wednesday being normal working days in 2021 ("el lunes 15 será un día normal de trabajo y y el miércoles 17 de Cenizas será un día con jornada laboral regular").

Recall that last autumn (2020-10-01), Panama's Vice Minister of Labor and Labor Development of Panama, Roger Tejada, had announced that the public holidays on November 3, 5, 10 and 28, and those in December, would remain non-working public holidays in Panama, despite the Covid-19 pandemic ("los días 3, 5, 10 y 28 de noviembre; y los otros días nacionales que vienen, aunque no se puedan celebrar por las restricciones de la pandemia del covid-19, se mantendrán como nacionales").
