The Romanian Government of Nicolae Ciucă has agreed to declare Monday, November 29, 2021, as a one-off non-working public sector holiday, throughout Romania, to link the November 30 and December 1st public holidays of Romania, with the preceding weekend.

The declaration of Monday, November 29, 2021, as a one-off bridge public holiday in Romania, thus amend the lists of public holidays for 2021 in Romania (2020-11-23), though only for the Romanian public sector.

As per the announcement of Romania's the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, "In order to recover the day off, the public institutions and authorities will appropriately extend their working time until December 31, 2021".

Such one-off bride public sector holidays had been a staple of the Romanian labor calendar (2018-12-18, 2018-08-02, 2018-04-12, 2018-03-12, 2018-02-28 and 2018-02-25), usually announced in extremis.

However, a recent law ("Law no. 156/2019 for the completion of art. 139 of Law no. 53/2003 regarding the Labor Code"), beginning in 2020, will force the Romanian government to announce by January 15th, at the latest, any and all one-off public holidays it intends to declare for the year (2019-07-25).
