Samoa's Supreme Court has thrown out the Samoan Head of State's decision to call a second election, on May 21, 2021, thus canceling the upcoming second round of electoral public holidays, on Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, 2021.

The first round of elections led to the declaration of Thursday and Friday, April 8-9, 2021, as electoral public holidays in Samoa (2021-03-20).

A stalemate in the result of these April 2021 elections, led the Head of state, Tuimalealiifano Va'aletoa Sualauvi II, to call for a second election, and this was soon followed by the declaration of Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, 2021, as electoral public holidays (2021-05-07).
