The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry And Labour has updated its previously-released list of the official non-working public holidays in Samoa for the calendar years 2020-2023, with the addition of 2 one-off public holidays dates in Samoa for the upcoming elections.
The initial 2020-2023 list of the official public holidays in Samoa was issued a year ago (2019-11-30), as a running update to the previous lists of public holidays in Samoa (2019-01-10, 2016-12-28 and 2011-09-06).
The aforementioned announcement, as always, states that "The Public Holidays Act 2008 (PHA 2008) stipulates that a SHOP may open during any Public Holiday as listed above or any declarations by the Head of State on the advice of Cabinet from time to time. Schools and places of employment shall be closed for all operations except the exempted services as outlined in the PHA 2008. " and that "The employers and workers are to comply with the Labour and Employment Relations Act 2013 for any work carried out during the Public Holidays. ".
