Samoan Electoral Public Holidays May 20-21

The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry And Labour has issued a communique announcing a second round of electoral public holidays, on Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, 2021 ("Faasilasilaga Faalauaitele Aso Malolo Mo Tagata Uma Mo Le Toe Faia O Le Faiga Palota Aoao 2021").

The aforementioned communique ("The public, business communities, shop owners, employers and workers are hereby advised that in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays Act 2008. the Public Holidays declared for the General Elections are as follows: Thursday 20th May 2021 and Friday 21st May 2021 (Polling day)"), as signed by the Samoan Chief Executive Officer, Pulotu Lyndon Chu Ling, follows a similar announcement of Thursday and Friday, April 8-9, 2021, as electoral public holidays in Samoa (2021-03-20).

The aforementioned declaration of of additional electoral public holidays, on Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, 2021, further amends the updated list of the official non-working public holidays in Samoa for the calendar years 2020-2023, released earlier this year by the Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry And Labour (2021-01-04).
