The Governor of the Indian State of Telangana has instructed the Telangana Chief Secretary, I. Rani Kumudini, to issue the Government Order GO Rt 183 declaring Saturday, April 17, 2021, as a paid holiday on account of the by-election in the 87-Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency, Nalgonda District, Telangana.

The aforementioned declaration of Saturday, April 17, 2021, reads as follows: "Declared Public Holiday in the area of 87- Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency, Nalgonda District on the day of poll i.e., 17.04.2021 (Saturday) under the Telangana Factories and Establishments (National, Festival and Other Holidays) Act, 1974 (Act No.32/1974) and the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 (Act No.20/1988) read with the provisions laid down in section 135-B of the Representation of People Act, 1951— Orders".

The April 17 public holiday thus further, though partially, amends (2021-03-05, 2021-01-11 and 2020-12-14) the list of 2021 public holidays in Telangana, as it was initially announced in the Notification "HOLIDAYS- General Holidays and Optional Holidays for the year 2021 – Notified." (G.O.Rt.No.1756 dated 09.11.2020), last autumn (2020-11-10).
