The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the government of Afghanistan has declared Tuesday, February 15, 2022, which corresponds to Dalwa 26 in the Afghan calendar, as a non-working public holiday in Afghanistan on account of the upcoming anniversary of the "Soviet defeat and withdrawal from Afghanistan".
The aforementioned announcement, issued by the Afghan Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, is in line with the 2007 declaration the 26th day of Dalwo (around February 15, according to the Afghan calendar) as a new annual public holiday to commemorate the victory of Mujahidin against the invading Soviet troops (2007-02-14 and 2006-02-16), as well as with past annual lists of public holidays (2021-01-22, 2020-01-12, 2019-01-14, 2018-01-10, 2017-01-16 and 2016-01-11).
