A Jordanian government source has announced that the government had not yet decided whether to postpone the 76th Independence Day public holiday, scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022, but that "it will not be postponed until Thursday".

Wednesday, May 25, 2022, is listed as a public holiday on account of the Kingdom's 76th independence anniversary, for the calendar year 2022 (2005-10-02).

Some annual fixed-date Jordanian public holidays are often moved to adjoin a weekend, when they occur in mid-week (2019-04-25, 2019-04-24, 2018-04-22, 2017-04-26, 2015-04-22, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2016-05-13, 2016-04-26, 2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), and almost never for Independence Day (2021-05-16).
