Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, has announced that Thursday, January 27, 2022, had been declared as a one-off public holiday in Jordan, "due to the harsh weather expected to prevail over the Kingdom in the upcoming couple of days".

Today's announcement of Thursday, January 27, 2022, as a weather-related public holiday in Jordan, thus amends the list of religious and national non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2022, as released last autumn (2021-11-08).

Jordanian one-off public holidays declared for weather reasons were common at the beginning of the decade (2015-02-18, 2013-12-11, 2013-01-09, 2013-01-08, 2008-01-31 and 2008-01-30) and after a pause of many years, weather related public holidays were declared again in recent years (2021-02-17 and 2019-01-16).
