Maurtitania's Présidence de la République issued a decree declaring Tuesday, May 3, 2022, as a non-working public holiday in Mauritania ("Par décret en date de ce jour 1 Mai 2022, la journée du mardi, lendemain de la fête d'El Fitr sera fériée, chômée et payée").

Despite an initial listing of public holidays (2021-12-21), the government of Mauritania often declares the day after Muslim public holidays as additional public holidays (2021-07-20, 2021-05-12, 2020-10-28, 2019-08-09, 2017-09-02, 2016-09-09, 2016-07-06, 2014-10-03, 2014-07-28).
