Papua New Guinea Easter 2022 Public Sector Holidays

The Department of Personnel Management of Papua New Guinea Secretary, Taies Sansan, has announced the dates of the upcoming Easter public holidays in Papua New Guinea.

As per Secretary Sansan's announcement, "further to Circular Instruction No.23 of 2021 on Public Holidays for this year, 2022, the following dates are declared as Public Holidays for the Easter period throughout the country. The public holiday starts on Friday, April s15n, which is Good Friday, April 16- Easter Saturday. Easter Sunday-April 17 and Easter Monday, April 18.".

The aforementioned declaration of Monday, February 28, 2022, as a day in lieu public holiday in Papua New Guinea, thus amends the list of PNG public holidays for the calendar year 2022 as contained in the National Gazette of Papua New Guinea No. G481, issued last summer (2021-07-16).

Secretary Sansan's announcement goes on to state that "Thursday 14th of April, also known as Holy Thursday to Catholic faithfuls is a normal working day" and that "all public servants are required to resume normal duties at 7:45am on Tuesday 19th of April".
