Punjab Declares April 8 Nabha Dass Public Holiday

The Indian State of Punjab has declared a state public holiday for Friday, April 8, 2022, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nabha Dass.

The birth anniversary of Guru Nabha Dass had been declared a local holiday in Gurdaspur by the SAD-BJP government from 1997-2002, and again in 2004, when then chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh had declared it as a restricted holiday.

The aforementioned declaration of Friday, April 8, 2022, as a public holiday in Punjab, thus further amends (2022-03-23, 2022-03-22 and 2022-02-10) the previously-released annual list of "the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Punjab for the upcoming calendar year 2022", as contained in the Punjab Government Order 06/01/2021/2PP3/1372 issued by the Government of Punjab late last year (2021-12-10).
