The Chief Minister of the Indian State of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, has declared a state public holiday for Wednesday, March 23, 2022, to commemorate the death anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.

As per the aforementioned announcement, "the holiday will allow the people of Punjab to visit Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of Bhagat Singh to pay homage".

The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, March 23, 2022, as a public holiday in Punjab, thus further amends (2022-02-10) the previously-released annual list of "the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Punjab for the upcoming calendar year 2022", as contained in the Punjab Government Order 06/01/2021/2PP3/1372 issued by the Government of Punjab late last year (2021-12-10).
