The Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's Parliament) has announced its support for Bill No. 7297 ("On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning the Perpetuation of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War") which would move the annual Day of Victory over Nazism public holiday from May 9 to May 8 "together with all of Europe".

The aforementioned notification is entitled "The Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy Supports the Bill on the Commemoration of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War on May 8".

The final passage of Bill No. 7297 would not affect the previously-released list of 2022 public holidays in the Ukraine (2021-08-26, 2021-08-23 and 2021-07-16), as the State Labor Service of Ukraine recently announced that May 2 and May 9, 2022, would be regular working days in the Ukraine (2022-04-15), as per the recently enacted Law of Ukraine "On the Organization of Labor Relations in Martial Law" № 2136-IX (2022-03-15).

Note that, in the future, May 9 would be a regular working day in the Ukraine, marking Europe Day.
