The government of the Bahamas has gazetted the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act, 2001" which inserts a "Special provision for shop opening".
As per the aforementioned amendment, all shops will be allowed to open for business, from December 16, 2001, until January 1st, 2002. Not surprisingly, the amendment is limited in time (This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 16th day of December 2001 and shall expire on the 1st day of January, 2002).
