Gagauzia, an autonomy in southern Moldova, has declared Tuesday, August 19, 2008, a public holiday to mark the 18th anniversary of the proclamation of the Gagauz Republic.
Recall that, as part of the 2003 amended Labour Code of Moldova (Codul Muncii al Republicii Moldova), Nr.154-XV, article 111 allows for the declaration of regional and municipal public holidays in each commune.
