Pakistan's Ministry of the Interior has released Circular No.2/9/2008 setting forth the "Public and Optional Holidays for the Year 2009".
As usual, the dates of many Muslim public holidays in Pakistan are forecast to occur a day later than in the Middle East.
However, these dates are subject to last-minute changes which often do bring the date of Muslim public holidays in Pakistan in line with the dates of these same public holidays in the Middle East (24-Sep-2008).
Even when the final date of a of Muslim public holiday remains as forecast. there are often rumours and counter-rumours until the last moment (16-Nov-2008 and 29-Nov-2008).
