At the last Council of Ministers, the Algerian governement has announced that, starting next month, Algeria would change its weekends from the current Thursday-Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday-Saturday.
The change, which will take effect as of August 14, 2009, had been expected for the last couple of years (05-May-2009 and 27-Jun-2007).
