India Declares May 13 Public Holiday In Puducherry

The Administration of India's State of Puducherry has declared Wednesday, May 13, 2009, as a one-off electoral public holiday for all its offices and undertakings on the occasion of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

This public holiday, declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act, is akin to those declared earlier this month in the states of Delhi and Tamil Nadu (20-Apr-2009), Himachal Pradesh (), and in Jammu and Kashmir (11-Apr-2009).
