The Chief Electoral Officer of India's State of Himachal Pradesh, Anil Khachi, has announced that Wednesday, May 13, 2009, had been declared as a gazetted public holiday to ensure maximum number of vote casting in the upcoming 15th Lok Sabha Elections.
This public holiday is akin to those declared earlier this month in the states of Delhi and Tamil Nadu (20-Apr-2009) and in Jammu and Kashmir (11-Apr-2009).
