The Chairperson of the India's Organising Committee (OC) for the Commonwealth Games 2010, Suresh Kalmadi, has announced that it had been decided that the day of the closing ceremony of the games would be declared a public holiday.
The date of the closing ceremony is October 14, 2009, and the OC and the Delhi government have decided that the day would be declared a public holiday, at the very least for colleges, universities and schools.
