The Iranian government has declared a public holiday for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7, 2009, in Iran's capital, Tehran, due to pollution levels nine times above the normal level.

The Emergency Committee for Tehran's Air Pollution further predicted that the holidays would likely be extended.

Tehran has declared such pollution public holidays in the past, as well as cold weather public holidays (06-Jan-2008).
