The Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Gordon Wetherall, has declared Monday, December 28, 2009, as a one-off, day in lieu, public holiday.
Both the initial list of 2009 public holidays (19-Sep-2008), and a subsequent revision (17-Mar-2009), had stated that there would be no day in lieu public holiday on December 28, to compensate the fact that the Boxing Day public holiday will fall on a weekend in 2009.
