The Guangzhou Communications Commission has announced that the Guangzhou government had decided to declare Friday, November 12, 2010, as a one-off regional public holiday to coincide with the first day of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
Similar regional public holidays were declared in China, in the past, for the opening of the Shanghai World Expo (02-Apr-2010) and the first day of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (06-Aug-2008).
