Guernsey Commerce and Employment Minister, Carla McNulty Bauer, has announced that her department would recommend to the States of Jersey that it declare a one-off public holiday on account of the 2011 UK royal wedding.
The aforementioned recommendation, which was hinted at last month (24-Nov-2010), will be discussed at the next States meeting in January 2011.
The UK (23-Nov-2010), Scotland (24-Nov-2010), and the Isle of Man (26-Nov-2010), have already announced that April 29, 2011, would be a one-off public holiday, while Jersey (22-Nov-2010) and Gibraltar (01-Dec-2010) are currently considering the idea.
