Spain 2011 Public Holidays In Cataluña

(Posted on Monday, May 31, 2010)

Source: Diario Oficial de la Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC)

The Conselleria de Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya has published the list of 2011 public holidays in Spain's Autonomous Region of Cataluña.

The aforementioned Orden TRE/309/2010, de 11 de mayo, por la que se establece el calendario oficial de fiestas laborales para el año 2011, was published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat de Catalunya DOGC núm. 5639 - 31/05/2010.

In 2011, the Autonomous Region of Cataluña has declared regional public holidays on June 13 (Lunes de Pascua Granada), June 24 (Fiesta de San Juan), but not on September 11 (Fiesta Nacional de Cataluña) as this date falls on a Sunday in 2011.

As per custom (05-Jun-2009), Cataluña is the only Spanish region that does not observe Maundy Thursday as a public holiday, opting, instead, to declare Easter Monday (Pascua Florida or Pascua de Resurrección) as a regional public holiday.
