Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Sunday, January 1st, 2012, as a public holiday to mark the upcoming Western new year.
Contrary to what happened the 2 last years (28-Dec-2010 and 29-Dec-2009), the upcoming January 2 has not been declared an additional non-working public holiday, as the 2012 New Year public holiday falls on a Sunday which is not one of the non-working days in Bahrain (02-Aug-2006).
