The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that Tuesday, November 13, 2012, would be the date of the upcoming Diwali public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago.
The date for the 2012 Diwali public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago had been left "to be announced" when the 2012-2013-2014 Trinidad and Tobago non-working public holidays were announced, earlier this year (04-Jan-2012).
Trinidad and Tobago often the South Indian method of calculation for the date of the Divali public holiday, as was the case, for example, in 2005 and 2010(07-Oct-2005 and 10-Oct-2010), but not in 2007 (10-Aug-2007), although for 2012, both northen Indian and southern Indian Divali occur on the same date.
